What are they?

Astro Botanicals are inflatable sculptures made of fabric, air and light, shaped like geometric plants. They have a continuously running fan and color changing lights inside.

How are they made?

They are made by hand with high quality nylon ripstop fabric cut from custom made patterns and sewn with a sewing machine.

What are they made of?

Four components: fabric, fan and lights plus gravity in the form of sand.

Fabric: Nylon Ripstop, Fire Retardant and UV Resistant, sewn with naval grade thread

Fan: Comair Rotron MR2B3 Fan, 0.26 Amp, 115V AC

Lights: 0.3 Amp addressable LED strands with a controlling circuit with 11 preset programs.

Sandbag: Heavy duty black outer bag, light weight inner white bag. Holds 10 pounds.

How much electricity do the sculptures require?

0.56 Amps to 0.86 Amps, depending on the sculpture. Only the Angelic Asparagus and the Star Castle have two sets of lights. All the sculptures have only one fan.

What can they be used for?

They can be used as art in any large room or space including the outdoors! Decorating special events, enhancing the entrance, creating visual orientation focal points. They can be set up as a large installation that creates a Space Garden for a fully immersive experience.

What is the purpose of the sculptures?

To attract attention, to enhance people’s experience, to make the world more beautiful and to promote kindness and creativity.

Are they safe for kids to be around?

Adult supervision is required, due to them being made of fabric that could be a suffocation hazard. The sculptures have grounded power cords and are safe in rainy conditions. The fan has finger guards that are safe for the tiniest fingers.

How long do the sculptures last?

They will last for more than 10 years if properly cared for.

How do I take care of them?

Treat them gently like a tent. If they get wet, dry them completely before storing them. They will mildew if put away wet. They will age faster if left in the sun for long periods of time.

Can they be outside in the rain?

They will withstand a light rainfall but not a downpour.  The large, skinny ones will lean more when wet.

How do you clean them?

Spot clean only with soap and water. Do not use detergent. Do not machine wash. If they are dusty they can be washed with a hose. If they are put away dusty, dirty or wet they may become mildewed or discolored. Because most of the sculptures are white, this may be visible in daylight, but at night it is mostly unnoticeable.

What happens if they break?

If the sculptures are treated roughly they can pop or tear. Sewing them by hand or with a sewing machine is easy. Repair services are available for fabric damage. Replacement fans and lights are available.

Can I sleep under the Magnolia Starship and Star Castle?

Yes! It is common for people to get dreamy, snuggly and cozy. Because of the brightness of the lights and the hum of the fan, it’s not common for people to actually sleep under the sculptures.

Do they make noise?

The sculptures have a fan that is about as loud as a microwave oven. It is not entirely quiet, but it has a pleasant tone that is only noticeable in a silent space.

How long will it take to receive my order?
